I am passionate about enhancing everyone’s knowledge of dyslexia and dyscalculia and offer a range of professional development packages for everyone: schools, colleges, multi-academy trusts, teacher training organisations, universities, organisations and workplaces. I also plan and deliver conference presentations and bespoke professional development to meet your specific goals.

Off-the-shelf’ professional development for dyslexia

An introduction to dyslexia (I): A fast-paced hour covering What is dyslexia? What impact does it have on learning across the curriculum? How can we support learners with dyslexic tendencies?

An introduction to dyslexia (II): A two-hour session that covers the content of the above session, alongside hands-on exploration of key resources.

Screening for dyslexia: A one-hour course for SENDCos and English leads/HoDs to identify and manage pupils/students in school who exhibit dyslexic tendencies.

Supporting dyslexic learners: A one-and-a-half hour course for Teaching Assistants on how to support learners 1:1 or in small groups.

Bespoke professional development

Coaching conversations in school: A series of one-hour conversations with the SENDCo to support their own knowledge and understanding of dyslexia or dyscalculia, setting action plans and supporting implementation of their own agenda (E.g. becoming a ‘dyslexia-friendly school’, enhancing TAs’ work with pupils with SpLD, or setting up an intervention programme for pupils with dyscalculic traits). Minimum 3 conversations, one focus.

Coaching conversations in the workplace: A series of one-hour conversations with a manager on how to support a dyslexic or dyscalculic team member. Minimum 3 conversations, one staff member.

Fees:

  • Off-the-shelf staff meetings – one hour: £150 + mileage

  • Off-the-shelf staff meetings – two hours: £250 + mileage

  • Training courses for TAs – one and a half hours: £250 + mileage

  • Full day delivering a combination of the above courses: POA (a lower fee will be quoted than the sum of the individual parts)

  • Bespoke professional development: £Negotiable (depends on type of input and preparation)

  • Conference keynote speaker or workshop presentation – £Negotiable (depends on type of input and preparation)

  • Coaching conversations: £100 per hour
