• Names and contact details for students/children
•Names and contact details for parents/carers
• Gender
• Pronoun preferences
• Date of birth
• Payment details and financial information including transactions
•Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or additional support
information (includes reasonable adjustments and special educational needs
and disabilities)
•Welfare information (includes family and home life circumstances and history)
• Exam results and qualifications
• Progress reports
• Exclusion, suspension and behavioural information

We also collect or use the following information for student education and welfare:
• Racial or ethnic origin
• Health information

Under UK data protection law, we must have a “lawful basis” for collecting and using

Our lawful bases for the collection and use of your data

Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information for student education
and welfare are:
• Consent – we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant
information. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any
time.
• Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it
benefits you, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your
data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate
interests are:
• When screening or assessing maths and/or literacy difficulties (e.g.
dyscalculia or dyslexia), it is necessary to collect and use information
regarding the individual’s background (e.g. date of birth, medical
history, developmental milestones, first language, school progress) to
enable a comprehensive and accurate outcome/diagnosis.
Parent/Guardian’s details are kept to send the completed report to
them.

 

Where we get personal information from

Directly from you
• Parents or carers (if under 16)
• School, college or other education establishment
• Professional consultants

 

How long we keep information

Any notes made during a screening or assessment will be kept for 12 months and
then shredded before disposal. Reports are kept electronically on a secure cloud-
based storage system (such as Dropbox) and are kept for six years or until the
assessee is 24 years (whichever is longer). At that time the report is removed from
the system and no copy will exist.

How to complain

If you have any concerns about our use of your personal data, you can make a
